Project Spotlight: Coldstream Maintenance Facility
June 17, 2013
A maintenance facility tendered by general contractor Sawchuck Developments, Ferro Building Systems was the chosen metal building supplier for this project. Located in Coldstream, British Columbia, this building was 41’-5” wide by 81’-5” long with a 25’-5 eave height, including R20 faced roof insulation and R12 faced wall insulation. The building was designed to accommodate a top-running under-slung 5 ton crane and 16’ x 16’ roll-up drum overhead doors. Other load considerations included masonry work and a mezzanine area using portal frames instead of cross bracing in the sidewalls for appropriate fit of components.
“Ferro really hit the nail on the head with respect to providing service that exceeds expectations. Their attention to detail during the tendering phase and ability to manage a multitude of complexities during the project was bar-none. Working with Ferro on this project was one of the best experience we encountered with a major sub-trade. ” Steven White, SAWCHUCK DEVELOPMENTS.
